So I was one of the lucky souls that was able to snatch the new iphone 3g within a week of its release. Instead of me explaining the features that already come with the phone, I want to show you some nifty applications that I think any person would like. I would also like to note all these apps listed below are free! Here are my top 3 picks:

Midomi

Description – A music search tool powered by your voice. Sing, hum, whistle, or hold up to a radio speaker to instantly find links to purchase your favorite music.

Pros – I kind of doubted what this app said it can do. I tested it out one day and had a co-worker sing a song to it, it took a second for it to think but amazingly it found the exact song he sung. I also tested this out in a restaurant and it was able to find the song playing!

Cons – Humming didn’t work out so well. Although to tell you the truth I was trying to hum a TV theme song.

AOL Radio

Description – AOL Radio features over 200 stations that span than 25 genres of music. Plus it has an extensive collection of popular news, sports, and talk programming—all for free!

Pros – I use this app a lot to listen to California radio. The radio comes in smoothly I’ve never noticed an interruption in song play.

Cons – This app eats up battery power, and there are only a handful of local radio stations available.

ShoZu

Description – Stay connected to over 40 of your favorite sites like Flickr, Facebook, Blogger, Twitter, Photobucket, Vox and more all from one easy to use app!

Pros – When I bought my iphone this is what I wanted to do! I want to take a picture and then uploaded to my Facebook or Flickr. This app does exactly that! The whole entire process takes about a minute depending on whether you’re using wifi, the 3g network, or the edge network.

Cons – I had this app crash on me once, other than that this is the perfect app for picture sharing!
