INDIAN PRAIRIE PUBLIC LIBRARY: INTERIOR RENOVATION

Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Library District Trustees of the Indian Prairie Public Library for the proposed Interior Renovation Project until 1:00 p.m. CST on Monday, the 23th of November 2020, at the Indian Prairie Public Library. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, the 23rd of November 2020 at the Indian Prairie Public Library located at 401 Plainfield Rd, Darien, IL 60561

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, cash, or a certified check payable to the order of the Indian Prairie Public Library, certified by a responsible bank for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance and payment bond, execute a contract for the full scope of work, and proceed with and complete the work within the agreed upon project schedule. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle them to a return of the aforementioned amount.

No bid will be considered unless the bidder shall furnish evidence satisfactory to the Library Board of Trustees for the Indian Prairie Public Library that the bidder has the necessary facilities, abilities, experience, equipment and financial and physical resources available to fulfill the conditions of the Contract and execute the work, should the Contract be awarded to it.

Bidders will examine the plans and specifications and also the location in which said work is to be done and judge for themselves all the circumstances and surrounding conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work, and all bids will be presumed to be based on such examination, familiarity and judgment.

The Board of Library District Trustees reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any technicalities and irregularities in the bidding and to hold the bid proposals for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of opening set forth above.

The successful bidder will be required to comply with the provisions of all State of Illinois and federal laws concerning public works projects as well as the State of Illinois Human Rights Act and the regulations of the Illinois Human Rights Commission.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS: INDIAN PRAIRIE PUBLIC LIBRARY FURNITURE

Indian Prairie Public Library will receive sealed bids/proposals from Furniture Dealers for Interior Improvements until 1:00 P.M. local time on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Indian Prairie Public Library, 401 Plainfield Road, Darien, IL 60561. Sealed envelopes or packages containing bids shall be addressed to Jamie Bukovac, Director and plainly marked “Sealed Bid” and list the Bid Package number on the outside of the envelope.

Sealed lump sum bids for the Bid Packages ONLY will be accepted.

The contract award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The Library will consider all factors which it, in its sole discretion, deems to be in the best interest of the Library. While price is important, past similar experience and ability to timely deliver the project on budget are also important considerations. The Library Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make an award that in the Board’s opinion is in the best interest of the Library.

All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages for any furniture requiring assembly by all Installers working on public works. If furniture does not require assembly, prevailing wage is not required. Bidders must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws, Substance Abuse Prevention, Drug Free Workplace and any applicable superseding ordinance or public law.

Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or cash in an amount equal to 10 percent of the total bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the Indian Prairie Public Library. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond will be returned upon request only. Bid Security in the form of a Certified Check will be returned after award of contract.
