Building the Future

We are doing a renovation! Construction began in February 2021. We hoped to have the renovation wrapped up by now, but unfortunately, like all other construction projects going on, we too are experiencing supply chain delays. The glass doors for Maker Studio, where we can't wait for you to learn and create in, will not be here until mid-late September. We also are waiting for the doors for our new first-and second-floor study rooms. We are finishing up electrical and data work, plus, paint touch-ups throughout the building. That being said, you can come to the library and enjoy the spaces that are close to completion. While we are still missing a few pieces of furniture, the majority of our seating for work, study, and hanging out are available for you to use.

We are committed to ensuring the library remains a popular destination and a lovely gathering space. To that end, we continually examine how the building can best support library services, and we have saved money for the past decade to pay for renovations.

The library building is the backbone of what we do and it also provides a lovely space for our residents. It is important that the building be updated to look and feel modern and to stay relevant to our community. When we did our last renovation in 2010, we renovated the library to meet the needs of our community at that time. As we know, times change quickly! With this in mind, we asked for your feedback. In 2017 and 2019, we held focus groups and sent out community surveys. While residents continue to use the library in traditional ways, we also heard that you want more space for programming, studying, and gathering, plus more emphasis on technology. We have been working with Product Architecture and Design to develop a plan that meets the community's interests, providing more, exciting public spaces for everyone!
