The library is governed by seven trustees who are elected to serve four-year terms. Trustees serve without pay. The board determines the budget, policies, and plan of service. Trustee Election April 1, 2025

Three library trustee positions are open.  All positions are four-year terms that expire in 2029.  Candidate packets are available here.  Candidate packets will also be available at the library Guest Services Desk and in the Administrative Office.  The first day to file paperwork and petitions in the library's Administrative Office is Tuesday, November 12, 2024.  The last day to file is Monday, November 18, 2024.  The Administrative Office is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The State Board of Elections web site is located at www.elections.il.gov.  The DuPage County Board of Elections can be reached at (630) 407-5600.

 

Board Meetings

The Library Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. Please call 630/887-0945 for more information. 

The Library Board of Trustees regular meeting will be held on October 16, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.

Lobbying

The library is a member of the Illinois Library Association (ILA). ILA is a not-for-profit educational institution that also conducts legislative advocacy efforts on behalf of libraries. The Indian Prairie Public Library does not and has never had a direct contract with a lobbying firm.
