Youth Services Page

 

The Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking a part-time Youth Services Page. Job duties include sorting and shelving material, assisting patrons, and helping Youth Services staff with special projects.

The library is looking for people with enthusiasm and ideas. We offer a dynamic, engaging team environment that values initiative and each individual. Applicants must have a commitment to excellent customer service, a friendly manner and a sense of humor. Other requirements include: 

  • Ability to arrange items in alphabetical and numerical order (test required).
  • Practical knowledge of computers.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately in a changing environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to move loaded book carts and to lift and shelve library materials as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or stoop for long periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively with public and staff in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently

This position averages 12 hours per week including days, evenings, and rotating weekend hours. The salary is $10.13 per hour.  Applicant must have completed two years of high school.

Circulation Services Associate

 

The Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking a part-time Circulation Associate.  If you love working with people, consider joining our team!  Job duties include checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, collecting fees and fines, handling incoming calls for the library and passport acceptance. 

This position is 12-16 hours per week; must be available to work days, nights and weekends.  The salary is $13.78 per hour.

The library is looking for people with enthusiasm and ideas.  We offer a dynamic, engaging team environment that values initiative and each individual.  Applicants must have a commitment to excellent customer service, a friendly manner, a sense of humor and be able to work as part of a team.  Other requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of work experience involving public contact.
